On Saturday, 2 May 2026, ASAP | art organised an online panel discussion with Munem Wasif, Sarker Protick and Tanvi Mishra, in conversation with Vincent Hasselbach, on the eleventh edition of the Chobi Mela International Festival of Photography, which opened in Dhaka in January 2026, a month before Bangladesh’s long-awaited elections.

WATCHLIST

In collaboration with the NIROX Foundation and the Centre for Indian Studies in Africa at the University of the Witwatersrand, the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation invites applications for the 2026 NIROX Residency in South Africa. The six-to-seven-week residency is open to emerging and mid-career Indian artists, and covers travel, accommodation and production costs. Apply by 29 June 2026.

Emami Art invites applications from emerging visual artists aged 35 and under, from across India for IMAGINARIUM 6.0. Ten artists will be selected for a group exhibition at Emami Art Gallery, Kolkata, with three receiving awards of INR 2 lakh, INR 1.5 lakh and INR 1 lakh respectively. In addition, five artists from eastern and northeastern India will be selected for the month-long KCC (Kolkata Centre for Creativity) Visual Arts Residency. Apply by 30 June 2026.

The India Foundation for the Arts (IFA), in collaboration with the Dr Ashok Da Ranade Archives (ADRA), invites applications for Creative and Scholarly Projects under its Archives and Museums programme. The programme is open to Indian nationals and will support projects of up to 15 months with budgets of up to INR 3 lakh that draw on ADRA’s extensive holdings related to Indian culture to develop public-facing outcomes. Apply by 10 July 2026.

Studio Public Memory and the Mopidevi family invite applications from artists and collectives for the second edition of the Krishna Swamy Mopidevi Grant for Artists. A new or ongoing project with a focus on regional histories and community-building will receive INR 50,000 and six months of mentorship. Applicants are required to submit a 500-word project proposal, an updated CV, a portfolio and a cover letter. Apply by 31 July 2026.

Green Hub and Royal Enfield invite applications for the 2026 Conservation Grants for Northeast India. Supporting youth-led, community-based conservation initiatives, the programme offers grants ranging from INR 1.5 lakh to INR 5 lakh for projects focused on biodiversity, sustainable livelihoods, nature education, and traditional knowledge. IFA invites applications for its Arts Research programme, supporting artists, scholars and practitioners exploring innovative approaches to research in the arts.
